Download Free Audi A4 Cabriolet 3.0 Litre Multitronic.pdf Head-turning styling and the opportunity to enjoy open-air motoring are obviously major attractions of the new Audi A4 Cabriolet, but there’s also plenty of substance behind thecar’s attractive façade. Technology, innovation, safety and luxury all rate highly in the Cabriolet, and together, make it a strong contender amongst its luxury cabriolet/convertible rivals.
At $105,370, the A4 Cabriolet is dearer than the Volvo C70 convertible ($98,000), but cheaper than the BMW 330Ci convertible ($110,700 – auto) and the Mercedes-Benz CLK320 cabriolet ($128,974). The first of the new A4 Cabriolet models to arrive in Australia is powered by a high-tech all-alloy 3.0 litre V6 engine that features four variably-timed camshafts, variable length intake manifolds and five valves per cylinder. A 1.8 litre turbocharged four cylinder variant that delivers maximum torque from 1950 rpm right through to 4700 rpm, is set for introduction soon after the V6. Pricing for the 1.8 litre model has not yet been announced. Both these engines are mated to Audi’s multitronic transmission. With its infinitely variable ratios, this automatic provides seamless power delivery when left to its own devices in Drive mode. Alternatively, the driver can select manual mode whereby six electronically stored ratios are available. To ensure the Cabriolet delivers its performance as safely as possible, the car comes equipped with an Electronic Stabilisation Progam (ESP), an Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR). Anti-lock brakes and brake assist are also standard. The passive safety package includes seatbelt force limiters and pre-tensioners for all four passengers, full-size front airbags and front side airbags with both head and thorax protection. Additional safety is provided by two protective bars behind the rear passengers that are triggered within milliseconds in the event of a rollover.
