HOLDEN MONARO COUPE CV6 AUTOMATIC AND CV8 MANUAL

Download Free Holden Monaro Coupe CV6 Automatic and CV8 Manual.pdf The re-incarnation of the Holden Monaro took three years from the rather sensational unveiling of the concept at the 1998 Sydney Motor Show to the launch at last year’s Show. While that could represent an eternity to buyers who have been eager to get their hands on one ever since, it’s an outstanding effort for an Australian design and production team working to a fraction of the budget of overseas car companies. Of even more credit is the end result. The new Monaro is a world-class Coupe that more than fulfils its expectations for style, performance and handling.

Available with the choice of Holden’s Supercharged V6 3.8 litre engine or the 5.7 litre Generation III V8, the Monaro is built on the Commodore platform and shares many of the sedan’s mechanical components. However, the body is unique from the bonnet backwards, with a more steeply-raked windscreen, a lower roofline, a shorter rear overhang and (naturally enough) longer doors. The Monaro’s body structure is said to be much stiffer than the sedan, which is a plus for both safety and handling qualities. Pricing for the new Monaro starts at $47,990 for the automatic-only CV6 version, while the CV8 is priced at $56,990 for either the four speed automatic or the six-speed manual.

Though the more expensive CV8 Monaro gets the full treatment as far as equipment is concerned, the CV6 is a long way from being a ‘bare bones’ model. Standard gear in the CV6 includes air conditioning, two front and side airbags, ABS brakes, traction control, FE2 Sports suspension, 17 inch alloy wheels (4 only), cruise control, leather upholstery, six-speaker stereo with a single CD player, and alarm/immobiliser security. The steering wheel is adjustable for both reach and rake, the Sports front seats have 8- way electric adjustment plus automatic slide for rear seat access, and lumbar support adjustment is also provided in both front seats. The front windows and exterior mirrors are power-operated. There’s also a basic trip computer that operates the audible and visual speed warning and provides information about trip distances.
