There are a number of exterior changes to the Premacy that distinguish it from the first model. In particular, new-look bumpers and a more prominent grille give the Premacy a restyled frontal appearance, while at the rear, there are new tail lights that incorporate circular elements. In addition, the Premacy is available in three new exterior colours and five spoke alloy wheels (now standard) complete the visual makeover. Perhaps the most important news is the new engine that powers the Premacy. The 2.0 litre engine is the same unit that is fitted to the SP20 and represents a capacity of increase of around 200 ml. Official power and torque figures are up 6 kW and 11 Nm respectively; however, the trade-off is that the Premacy now requires premium unleaded petrol. One of the strong points of the original Premacy was its comprehensive level of standard equipment. The new Premacy builds on this strength to offer even more for the money. Some of the Premacy’s standard features include air conditioning, AM/FM radio with single CD player, steering wheel mounted stereo controls, power windows, remote central locking, power steering, electric mirrors, alloy wheels (full size steel spare), tilt adjustable steering and a retractable rear cargo blind.
